About TeqMount

TeqMount is part of WayPoint and TeqTrade. The name TeqMount represents a series of products we’ve developed in-house, often as enhancements to Garmin devices. Since 1999, WayPoint has been selling Garmin products, with a strong focus on motorcyclists, especially in the early years. WayPoint is always looking for ways to better tailor products to the user’s needs.

Mounting Solutions

In the early days, we imported products from RAM Mounts, which made it easy to mount your Garmin GPS on a motorcycle. We also developed our own mounts for popular motorcycle models to position the GPS unit in the perfect spot.

Perfect Cradle

Our first major development was the Perfect Cradle, inspired by the introduction of the Garmin StreetPilot 2610. This waterproof unit was faster than its predecessor (the StreetPilot III) and supported CompactFlash memory cards. However, it could only be operated via the touchscreen. The Perfect Cradle made the device much more usable for motorcyclists. With our cradle, the StreetPilot 2610 could be operated even while wearing gloves, and we built in a Bluetooth chip, enabling wireless voice instructions inside your helmet. The Perfect Cradle was sold worldwide.

ZumoLock

Another successful product is the ZumoLock, which allows you to secure your Zumo device to your motorcycle. This prevents casual theft of your valuable GPS. The ZumoLock is available for the Zumo 660, 3xx, 59x series, and of course the Zumo XT1 and XT2.

OnRoute Motorcycle Map

Besides hardware, we’ve also developed software. One of our most popular products is the OnRoute Motorcycle Map. This map works with various Garmin devices and calculates not the fastest or shortest route, but the most scenic one—perfect for motorcyclists who want to ride without having to plan routes in advance.

Zumo XT Accessories

In 2020, Garmin launched the Zumo XT(1): fast, bright screen, and fully modern. However, users missed certain accessories like a cover for the motorcycle mount and extra protection. We developed a cover and a bumper, both produced via injection molding for greater durability—unlike 3D-printed alternatives.

BMW Solutions

The Zumo XT was well-received worldwide. However, BMW riders had no updated version of the BMW Navigator, even though it fit perfectly on the factory mount. The Zumo XT was more modern and reliable, while the BMW Navigator often had touchscreen issues. So, we created the TeqMount BMW Adapter. You simply click it onto the original mount and then click the Zumo XT onto the adapter. Power is provided via the original connection.

Handlebar Control

A frequently asked question: Can I still use the Wonder Wheel / Multi-controller? With the Zumo XT, this wasn’t possible. But with the introduction of the Garmin Zumo XT2 and Garmin's new handlebar controller at the end of 2024, new options emerged. We developed the TeqMount BMW Adapter Zumo XT2 WW (Wonder Wheel) version. After extensive research into the signals from both the Garmin controller and BMW wheel, we created a translator. The result is a plug-and-play module that lets you zoom in/out, add info, or mark waypoints with just a turn of the wheel!
